  • ABDR 2402 - Autobody Mechanical and Electrical Service


    A course in the repair, replacement and/or service of collision damaged mechanical or electrical systems. Topics include drive train removal, reinstallation and service; cooling system service and repair; exhaust system service; and emission control systems. Additional topics include wire and connector repair, reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting.

    Instruction in preparation of vehicles for major repair processes. Covers interpreting information from damage reports, planning repair sequences, selecting appropriate tools and organizing removed parts for reinstallation.

  • ACCT 2301 - Accounting Principles I


    This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of financial accounting as prescribed by U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as applied to transactions and events that affect business organizations. Students will examine the procedures and systems to accumulate, analyze, measure and record financial transactions. Students will use recorded financial information to prepare a balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and statement of shareholders’ equity to communicate the business entity’s results of operations and financial position to users of financial information who are external to the company. Students will study the nature of assets, liabilities and owners’ equity while learning to use reported financial information for purposes of making decisions about the company. Students will be exposed to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • ACCT 2302 - Accounting Principles II


    Prerequisites / Corequisite
    Prerequisite: ACCT 2301

    This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of managerial accounting appropriate for all organizations. Students will study information from the entity’s accounting system relevant to decisions made by internal managers, as distinguished from information relevant to users who are external to the company. The emphasis is on the identification and assignment of product costs, operational budgeting and planning, cost control and management decision making. Topics include product costing methodologies, cost behavior, operational and capital budgeting, and performance evaluation.

  • AELT 0001 - College Transitions: College Readiness


    College Transitions is a college and career preparatory class that students are encouraged to take prior to entering an Integrated Education & Training (IET) Course or academic degree program. College Transitions is a course that “transitions” you from where you are now into college. The purpose of the course is to assist students with their academic journey and chosen career path.  The course is approximately eight weeks.  During the course, students will prepare and take the TSI, career-building activities and career explorations, enhance their digital literacy skills with the use of Amarillo College’s online Systems and strengthen their vocational skills. Students developing the workforce, digital, and college readiness skills should be equipped with the tools needed to become successful college students.
