Certificate of Completion
Major Code - PHRA.CERT
Prepares students to become a vital member of the Pharmacy Team. Some of the responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, reconstituting medications, bulk compounding and mixing of sterile parenteral and enteral products. All work is performed under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful completion of the curriculum. All of the major requirement courses are to be taken in a sequential order. A grade of C or higher is required for satisfactory completion of all courses in the curriculum.
To continue in the program, students may repeat a PHRA course only one time and may repeat no more than two PHRA courses while enrolled in the program. The term “repeat” shall be interpreted to mean re-enrollment following withdrawal, drop or unsatisfactory grade.
Graduates will be prepared to take the National Certification exam through PTCB or NHA. Applicants for the exam are required to have a high school diploma or GED, successfully completed a training program, and must have no felony convictions.
Students seeking entry into Pharmacy Technology must file a specific program application form and complete additional admission procedures as required. Please refer to the Pharmacy Technology website for more information on certification.
