Prepares students to be an essential member of the surgical team. Students successfully completing the program are eligible to write the National Certification Examination to become a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful completion of the curriculum. Major requirement courses are to be taken in sequential order. Students will be given two years to complete the entire Surgical Technology certificate curriculum. Students who fail to do so will be required to reapply for acceptance into the program and repeat all courses.
A grade of C or higher is required for satisfactory completion of all courses in the curriculum.
Students seeking entry into Surgical Technology must file a specific program application form and complete additional admission procedures as required. Information is available on the Surgical Technology website.
