The Construction Technology program at Amarillo College leads to an Associate Degree in Applied Science with specialization in carpentry. Courses within the program present the details of commercial and residential construction, cast in a context that emphasizes safety, efficiency, reliability, and critical thinking.

The Construction Technology program provides learners with a well-rounded education in carpentry principles and practices with an emphasis on real-world hands-on learning experience. Learners build full-size mock-ups and participate in various service learning construction projects that will prepare learners for fulfilling craft trade profession of their preference. 

External learning opportunities available through internships, apprenticeships, or other applied/work-based options.

All field experience or relevant external learning opportunities must be approved by Program Coordinator.

Students must select 4 out of the 5 courses below and then complete one of the remaining courses (CNBT 2340 or CNBT 2367 or ELPT 1365 or PFPB 2382) for a total of 15 credit hours.
