The CIS - Computer Information Systems Associate of Applied Science degree prepares students for entry-level positions as a computer programmer, web developer, or other areas in the IT field. All major course requirements are to be taken in the order approved by the students’ individual CIS Advisor. The student must have a C or higher in all required courses in order to progress to the next level of the program. To remain eligible for enrollment in subsequent CIS courses, a student may repeat a particular CIS course only once and may repeat only two CIS courses. 

Program Requirements

*All Associate (AA, AS) degrees and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees have a 1 credit hour institutional requirement of EDUC 1100: First Year Seminar.

General Education Requirements (15 Semester Hours)


Communication - 3 Hours


Social/Behavioral Sciences - 3 Hours


Mathematics - 3 Hours


Language, Philosophy & Culture/Creative Arts - 3 Hours


Institutional Requirement - 3 Hours


Major Options (12 Hours)


Students should select a major concentration in Computer Science, Full Stack Development, Game Design, or I.T.
