The Construction Technology program at Amarillo College consists of three stackable certificates which lead to an Associate in Applied Science degree

The Construction Technology Associate in Applied Science degree is composed of five additional general education courses. The degree prepares students for entry level positions in residential and commercial construction trades careers. Students gain knowledge and skills in: safety, trade tools, drafting, blueprint reading, construction technology, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, interior and exterior finishes, green building, project scheduling and cost estimating.  Soft skills development includes: resume writing and job interview skills.

As students progress through the Construction Technology Associate in Applied Science degree they will build skills and develop knowledge to complete the construction of a tiny home project.

Students will be required to seek internships, cooperative education and jobs within the carpentry trades.

*All Associate (AA, AS) degrees and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees have a 1 credit hour institutional requirement of EDUC 1100: First Year Seminar.
