The Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology prepares students for the operating room by combining classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory training, and clinical experience. The academic curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation for the expanding demands of the healthcare field. In addition to preparing students for a successful career in surgical technology, this program also serves as a stepping stone to further opportunities in other healthcare professions.
Students interested in applying to the Surgical Technology Program should use their first year to complete all general education courses, along with Anatomy and Physiology I & II, Microbiology, and Medical Terminology. These courses will provide a solid foundation for the more specialized coursework in the program.
A grade of C or higher is required for satisfactory completion of all courses in the curriculum.
A student seeking entry into Surgical Technology must file a specific program application form and complete additional procedures as required. Information is available on the Surgical Technology website.
