This CIS - Network Technician Certificate prepares students for a career in enterprise computer networking. The curriculum focuses on essential skills such as designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise computer networks, optimizing operating systems, and performing routine hardware/software maintenance on servers and endpoints. Courses utilize hands-on labs that aid the student in preparing to take the following certification exams: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, and industry cloud certifications. This certificate provides a direct pathway to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Networking/Cybersecurity.
All major course requirements are to be taken in the order approved by the student's individual CIS Advisor. The student must have a “C” or higher in all required courses to progress to the next level of the program. To remain eligible for enrollment in subsequent CIS courses, a student may repeat a particular CIS course only once and may repeat only two CIS courses.
