Students gain hands-on experience with business computer applications, Unix operating systems, networking principles, and information security practices.
This certificate establishes a strong foundation for students pursuing careers in networking, cybersecurity, and IT systems maintenance. Course content aligns with industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, and CompTIA Security+, preparing graduates for immediate employment or continued study in Computer Networking/Cybersecurity.
All major course requirements are to be taken in the order approved by the student's individual CIS Advisor. The student must have a “C” or higher in all required courses to progress to the next level of the program. To remain eligible for enrollment in subsequent CIS courses, a student may repeat a particular CIS course only once and may repeat only two CIS courses.
