The CIS – Software Development Certificate prepares students with core skills used in the development of software and web-based applications. The program emphasizes logical problem-solving, object-oriented development, database integration, and beginning and advanced web development. Students gain hands-on experience building, testing, and maintaining applications in a business and technology environment. This certificate supports entry-level employment and continued advancement within CIS software development pathways.
All major course requirements are to be taken in the order approved by the student's individual CIS Advisor. The student must have a “C” or higher in all required courses to progress to the next level of the program. To remain eligible for enrollment in subsequent CIS courses, a student may repeat a particular CIS course only once and may repeat only two CIS courses.
