The Construction Technology program at Amarillo College consists of three stackable certificates which lead to an Associate in Applied Science degree. The Construction Technology intermediate certificate builds on the student's interest in the construction trades.
These courses build upon the student's basic knowledge and grow their skills in: safety, specific trade tool use, increased drafting skill, blueprint reading, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, green building, project scheduling and cost estimating. Students will be involved in project based learning to continue to develop their skills and knowledge of the construction trades.
As students progress through the intermediate construction certificate they will build upon skills learned to continue the construction of their tiny home project.
