AELE 0052 - English as a Second Language Low Intermediate Speak in a variety of rich conversations and practice listening skills using context clues, retelling, or paraphrasing of ideas to hear and comprehend the spoken message. Apply increasingly complex listening strategies to interact in meaningful conversations that include challenging vocabulary. Initiate and engage in simple conversations that include descriptions, making connections, and inferences on a variety of familiar topics. Read texts representing different genres increasing the skill to generate questions, make connections, and inferences as well as Identify the central idea and its supporting details. Determine the sequence of events in a variety of pieces of texts. Write with an audience in mind for a variety of topics. Begin to practice with the writing process (pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, publishing, share), author’s purpose in writing.
