Horticulture encompasses a unique blend of art, science and technology.  Horticulture crops include trees, shrubs, tropical plants, herbs, flowers, fruits, vegetables and nuts. The horticulture industry is the second largest industry in the state of Texas and offers graduates a multitude of diverse career opportunities.  New practices and tools have broadened the scope to include ornamental landscape horticulture and production horticulture.

General Education Requirements (42 Semester Hours)

Math 1414 is recommended (please see advisor; best math option is dependent on planned transfer institution.

Complete a minimum of 3 hours based on University to which student plans to transfer. Elective course options are as follows: SPAN 1411, SPAN 1412, BIOL 1406, and BIOL 1407. NOTE: SPAN 1411 is typically the most beneficial course for transfer purposes.
