The Construction Technology program at Amarillo College consists of basic, intermediate, and advanced level certifications that lead to an Associate of Applied Science.
The six courses in this initial certificate provide general knowledge and basic skills for success as an apprentice in some of the many trades in the construction industry. It is designed to introduce blueprint reading, applied mathematics used in general construction, basic carpentry, safety protocols, and procedures in the use of basic tools and equipment.
External learning opportunities available during or upon completion of Basic certificate through internships, apprenticeships, or other applied/work-based options.
