The courses in the intermediate certificate build on and further the knowledge and skills gained from the initial certificate. Courses in material estimation, advanced blueprint reading, building codes, basic electrical theory, plumbing, and introduction to residential and commercial HVAC prepare students to construct a tiny home or something similar. Safety procedures on job sites are stressed throughout. The courses are designed for students to earn credits while on-the-job with eligible employers. 

External learning opportunities available during or upon completion of Intermediate certificate through internships, apprenticeships, or other applied/work-based options.
