Prepares students with the basic skills required of a beginning staff medical sonographer. Upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum, the graduate will be eligible to write the national certification examinations administered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, ARRT(S).
Due to the nature of this highly specialized profession and limited availability of clinical sites, the Sonography program is unable to allow students to repeat a class if they do not pass it. The program policy states that a student must pass each class consecutively with a 75% or higher. If a student does not pass a course with a grade of 75% or higher, they will not be able to continue in the program. Students who do not pass a course with the grade of 75% or higher may reapply to the program during the next application cycle, with the program director’s permission, and will be required to re-take all courses in sequence.
A student seeking entry into Sonography must file a specific program application form and complete all additional admission procedures as required. Information is available on the Sonography website.
