Prepares students for employment in the physical therapy clinic. The PTA graduate works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Upon successful completion of the program the graduate is eligible to apply for state licensure.

All of the major requirements must be taken in a sequential order or at the advisement of the department major advisor. All PTHA courses must be completed with a grade of C or above before the student is eligible to advance to the next level of courses.

A grade of C or higher is required for satisfactory completion of all PTHA courses and any prerequisite courses. To continue in the program, a student may repeat a PTHA course only one time and may repeat no more than two PTHA courses while enrolled in the program. The term “repeat” shall be interpreted to mean re-enrollment following withdrawal, drop or unsatisfactory grade.

A student seeking entry into Physical Therapist Assistant must file a specific program application form and complete additional admission procedures as required. Information is available on the PTA website.
