With an Associate of Science in Horticulture, you’re well-prepared to embark on a rewarding career in the green industry. This degree equips you with the knowledge and skills to work in various roles, including:

  • Landscaping: Design and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces.
  • Nursery work: Cultivate, propagate, and sell plants.
  • Greenhouse management: Oversee plant growth in controlled environments.
  • Arboriculture: Care for trees and shrubs.
  • Golf course maintenance: Manage the upkeep of golf courses.
  • Parks and recreation: Contribute to the preservation of natural areas.
  • Research: Assist in lab and field settings.

An associate degree in horticulture can also serve as a solid foundation for further studies in Plant Science.

Complete a minimum of 3 hours based on University to which student plans to transfer. Elective course options are as follows: SPAN 1411, SPAN 1412, BIOL 1406, and BIOL 1407. NOTE: SPAN 1411 is typically the most beneficial course for transfer purposes.
